LOCTITE® 248 is a universal thread locking agent with moderate bonding strength. This product is rod shaped, easy to carry. This thread locking agent holds and seals bolts, nuts and screws to prevent loosening caused by vibration. This product is suitable for all metals, including stainless steel, aluminum and inert substrates such as plating surfaces. It has been shown to tolerate mild contamination from industrial oils such as motor oils, rust inhibitors, and cutting fluids.

LOCTITE®
DSP 190024™ can be cured by exposure to UV
and/or visible light of sufficient intensity. Surface cure is
enhanced by exposure to UV light in the 220 to 260 nm range.
Cure rate and ultimate depth of cure depend on light intensity,
spectral distribution of the light source, exposure time and light
transmittance of the substrate through which the light must
pass.
Fixture Time
UV fixture time is defined as the light exposure time
required to develop a shear strength of 0.1 N/mm².

For Assembly
1. For best results, clean all surfaces (external and internal)
with a LOCTITE®
cleaning solvent and allow to dry.
2. If the material is an inactive metal or the cure speed is too
slow, spray all threads with Activator SF 7471™ or SF
7649™ and allow to dry.
3. Shake the product thoroughly before use.
4. To prevent the product from clogging in the nozzle, do not
allow the tip to touch metal surfaces during application.
5. For Thru Holes, apply several drops of the product onto
the bolt at the nut engagement area.
6. For Blind Holes, apply several drops of the product down
the internal threads to the bottom of the hole.
7. Assemble and tighten as required.
8. For Sealing Applications, apply a 360° bead of product
to the leading threads of the male fitting, leaving the first
thread free. Force the material into the threads to
thoroughly fill the voids. For bigger threads and voids,
adjust product amount accordingly and apply a 360° bead
of product on the female threads also. -

LOCTITE 518 provides robust curing
performance. It not only works on active metals (e.g. mild steel)
but also on passive substrates such as aluminum with a low
copper content. The product offers gap performance to 0.25
mm (0.01 in) and contamination tolerance. It cures in the
presence of minor surface contaminations from various oils,
such as cutting, lubrication, anti-corrosion and protection fluids
and cleaners containing surfactants and corrosion inhibitors.
