LOCTITE® SI 5031 is a yellowish, translucent, fluorescent, mobile acetate based dual-cure silicone sealant with deep light curing capabilities, including UV and visible light, and a secondary moisture curing mechanism for shadow curing. When exposed to sufficient ultraviolet light, visible light or atmospheric moisture, the product can form a flexible rubber seal with moderate strength.

LOCTITE®
DSP 190024™ can be cured by exposure to UV
and/or visible light of sufficient intensity. Surface cure is
enhanced by exposure to UV light in the 220 to 260 nm range.
Cure rate and ultimate depth of cure depend on light intensity,
spectral distribution of the light source, exposure time and light
transmittance of the substrate through which the light must
pass.
Fixture Time
UV fixture time is defined as the light exposure time
required to develop a shear strength of 0.1 N/mm².

The rate of cure will depend on the ambient relative
humidity. The best results are achieved when the relative
humidity in the working environment is 40% to 60% at 22°C.
Lower humidity leads to slower cure. Higher humidity
accelerates it, but may impair the final strength of the bond. -
LOCTITE 222 for the locking and sealing of threaded fasteners
For Assembly
1. For best results, clean all surfaces (external and internal)
with a LOCTITE®
cleaning solvent and allow to dry.
2. If the material is an inactive metal or the cure speed is too
slow, spray all threads with Activator SF 7471™ or SF
7649™ and allow to dry.
3. Shake the product thoroughly before use.
4. To prevent the product from clogging in the nozzle, do not
allow the tip to touch metal surfaces during application.
5. For Thru Holes, apply several drops of the product onto
the bolt at the nut engagement area.
6. For Blind Holes, apply several drops of the product down
the internal threads to the bottom of the hole.
7. Assemble and tighten as required.
8. For Sealing Applications, apply a 360° bead of product
to the leading threads of the male fitting, leaving the first
thread free. Force the material into the threads to
thoroughly fill the voids. For bigger threads and voids,
adjust product amount accordingly and apply a 360° bead
of product on the female threads also.
